FSI Customer Service Bulletin

Recently FSI has determined a certain sequence of events that can cause damage to the internal calibration constants of the 3D-ACM. This can only occur if power is applied to the 3D-ACM incorrectly.

The problem occurs when the internal battery is disconnected and the operator connects the 3D-ACM Test Cable to the instrument with the external power "live". This causes an internal transient, which may damage the internal calibration constants. You can avoid this problem by connecting the 3D-ACM Test Cable to the end cap and then turn on the external power. If the instrument battery is connected the problem will not occur.

FSI realizes this problem may occur, so we have created a Field Service Kit to prevent the problem from occurring. Contact the Customer Service Department to receive a Field Service Kit.

Sincerely,

John Duchesney
