Thank
you for your interest in Falmouth Scientific, Inc.
Strategically located on Cape Cod in Cataumet,
Massachusetts, FSI has proven itself to be a leading manufacturer of
equipment and techniques to measure various physical properties of water
and its surroundings.
FSI was incorporated in
1989, has grown to 20+ employees, and has sales
representatives in 27 countries. More than half of our sales are outside
of North America and we service many different marketplaces including oceanographic
research institutes, oil and gas, academic communities, fisheries, engineering firms,
industrial process industries, and governments world wide.
When FSI was originally founded the first product was a precision serial output thermometer designed
for high accuracy measurement of oceanographic temperature. This led to FSI's first product line, a series of digital output sensors for
the high precision measurement of temperature, pressure and conductivity.
These technologies were the building blocks upon which the company's first
CTD product, the Integrated CTD (ICTD), was based, and they remain at the core of the FSI product and service offerings. Since these early developments our product line
has grown to include Two and Three Dimensional Acoustic Current Meters, Wave and Tide Measurement Systems, Ocean Sensor Modules, and a Solar-powered AUV.
In
September of 2002, FSI merged with Acoustikos, Inc., an
engineering firm specializing in the design and development of acoustic
instrumentation such as underwater riser monitor systems. Acoustikos was founded by former owners of Datasonics, another underwater instrumentation company that was purchased by Teledyne Benthos, Inc. in 1999.
The CTD product line was divested in early 2009 to Teledyne RD Instruments, allowing FSI to refocus on emerging technologies and new product areas. (Please note that CTD modules are still available as options on selected FSI instruments.)
In March of 2010 FSI acquired Hegg Marine Solutions (HMS) which specialized in products and services for the geophysical and
marine survey markets such as a seismic sub-bottom profiler and a portable sidescan sonar system. This also added a
full range of services to the FSI portfolio including hydro-acoustic system integration,
training, and site support. The combined capabilities of the two
companies enable FSI and the new HMS division to provide more
complete product and service offerings for coastal and deep-water applications.
Our strategic close proximity to
many prestigious organizations enables us to remain at the forefront of marine
technology. Many
of our former and existing products were developed in
association with Neil Brown, a world renowned leader in high-accuracy
physical measurement systems. These relationships, our core technologies, and the commitment of our
highly trained staff of customer service and development engineers are at the
heart of FSI and are the keys to our success.
Today,
many of our products are setting new industry standards for
quality and reliability. Our
commitment to high quality, combined with constant innovation, has
earned
FSI a reputation for superior reliability and performance.
Customers can turn to FSI for the ability to work with a single vendor to
achieve complete system development, equipment integration, and on-site
support.
We
are very proud of our company and stand by all of our products and
services. If you have any questions or comments, or for a representative
